New Photo Blog

Hi everyone. As I've been enjoying immensely posting pictures on this blog, I thought I'd advance towards a better place to post photos. I'm following in my brother, Mick's, footsteps and putting them on a better equipped site. I didn't like seeing the pictures all little like they are on here and I couldn't figure out how to make them bigger. Sooooo, please travel over to our new photoblog beckn32pics to see the new site. I'm working on making all the past photos the same as this blog was so you may see a few slight changes. So, tootleloo blogspot, hello expressions. My regular blog for written stories will stay the same. This is only a change for my photos.

More reflections.

Shallow Reflections

I love water reflections. Instead of taking a picture of the boat or house, or such I tend to point down to the reflection when I'm taking a picture. I took a lot of reflection pictures on this trip so you'll be seeing more to come. The water had a such a beautifully shimmer to it.

Grande Pesce Fresco

When you eat fish in Italy, it comes out on the plate whole, head and all. Yuck!!!

Pesce Fresco

That's fresh fish in English (they always say things backwards in Italian). Down at the docks where we caught the ferry to go over to Procida, there was a line of fishing boats that had just come in. It was early morning and I'm assuming the guys standing around the boats may be restaurant owners about to buy their fresh fish for the day.

Frutta e Vegetale piu

Frutta e Vegetale

I went on a day tour today to the island of Procida which is right off the coast of Napoli. We left early and just before we got onto the ferry we passed by this fruit and vegetable stand and I loved the look. These stands are everywhere here and this is the way everyone buys there produce. This one is very well kept!

Yearbook Poses

They were taking picture of the Marching Band to put in the yearbook and Mr. Marvel asked me to take pictures too. Here's the marching band, the whole band, nothing but the band. At least it wasn't raining on them this time.

Intensity

This is Brad during Saturday's football game. NAHS won again and will go on to finals. If it gets down to the championship, the band may get to travel up to Germany for the game. Keep your fingers crossed.

No Telescope

This is a picture I took at the Caserta Palace Gardens the first time I visited. I wanted to show the difference between the waterfall in the background now that I was inside the gardens as opposed to the telescope picture I posted a few days ago.

Big Window

It was a dreary, rainy day when we went to the Caserta Royal Palace and so, very dark inside the main hallway. The blurr is my friend Gina in front of one of the grand windows in the main foray (where Star Wars was filmed). I wanted to show how small we are compared to the size of the window.

Telescope

I went to the Caserta Royal Palace again, this time with my friend, Gina, and her mom who was visiting her. Again, it was a great tour and again, I was enthralled with the paintings and architecture of the palace. This picture was taken while I was standing in front of the palace looking through all the way to the back of the gardens. The manmade waterfall you see in the picture is at least two miles away and hundreds of years old, but you get the feeling it's closer because of the telescope affect of the buildings main causeway.

Rain or Shine

The show must go on. The band is waiting to take the field for their half time show during a torrential downpour. The downpour lasted for the entire show and the kids were soaking wet, but played their little hearts out. I was taking a picture of the band here but I'm glad I got these three football players with their bright yellow rain slicks on looking like ducklings in a row.

Courtyard Garden

I know I already posted this pic on the log side, but I'm so pleased with it I had to post it here too. I'm happy that I captured the tower so well because some of my other pictures the tower was blown out white by the sun and no amount of playing with the colors on the computer could make them turn out well. I did up the saturation a tad on this one to make the sky bluer and the vines greener.

Looking Towards Heaven

While on all of our trips to see Italy, it seems that I am forever taking pictures looking up. Everything interesting seems to be above us. The architecture of the buildings, paintings on the ceilings, windows with fantastic curves are all above me. I tend to be pointing my camera skywards so often. The simplicity of this picture of the church in San Gimingano and the tower beside it is a far cry from the extravagant rooms I’ve seen of cathedrals or the royal palace.

A Time Bomb

This is Mt. Vesuvius as seen from Sorrento across the Bay of Napoli. It was such a beautiful clear day and it was nice being able to see the mountain from it's other side. We live about the same distance away North of the valcano. There's no danger to us if the it erupts since we live so far away. I feel sorry for those people that live at it's base though.

The Bell Tower

This is the bell tower of the church (cloister) we visited in Sorrento. There was a beautiful garden on the grounds here and we could look out towards the sea as we stood up on the high cliff the town sits on. It was an absolutely beautiful day when we visited Sorrento and we enjoyed every minute of it.

Frutte e Vegetali

This is typical of a vegetable stand. This guy was parked outside the church in Sorrento. The funny thing is that this little car he has his goods in will be packed to the brim and going 20 mph down some the highway. Considering everyone else goes 90, I'm amazed I haven't seen any fruit guys splattered on the road.

Billowing Towers

I love clouds! Soft floating ones, tall billowy ones, dark foreboding ones. I'm forever taking pictures of clouds I've noticed, or staring at them peacefully when no camera is around. This is taken off of our balcony. We can't see the sun sitting, but we can usually see the results on clouds if there are any. Lately we've been having some spectacular clouds floating around from rain storms and the colors are awesome.
